The Virtual Orbits interactive simply provides a 3D illustration of the current orbit and cannot be used to predict collisions. Although the speed of the NEO and the planets on their orbits are correct, their positions are not realistic. The interactive is not set to any particular epoch.

The Virtual Orbits interactive is a JAVA applet and requires a JAVA enabled browser (JDK 1.2 or higher). The simulation performs realtime calculations and you will need a high specification pc (PIII or higher) in order to view the orbits smoothly. Virtual Orbits can affect the performance of your system. You should not try to run multiple Virtual Orbit pages. In the event of technical problems exit from your browser.
