Why we sometimes lose track of NEOs?
Occasionally a NEO is lost. Usually this is simply because when it was first discovered it's orbit was not determined with enough accuracy to allow it to be found later and followed up. The Minor Planet Center publishes newly discovered NEOs on the internet to allow their orbits to be determined.
