What are the chances of the Earth being hit by a NEO?

At this time there is one large NEO, asteroid 1950 DA that may collide with the Earth in the year 2880. The chance that this will happen is 1 in 300. However, estimates are that we have only discovered little more than half of the 750 to 1100 objects of size 1 km or greater. NASA has set an objective of discovering 90% of the objects in this class by 2010.
