The team at the National Space Centre responsible for producing the news for the NEO Information Centre website has launched a new website to provide comprehensive coverage of other space related stories. The NEO website continues to be the place to keep up-to-date with the latest in the world of asteroids and comets, but those interested in other space stories can now also visit the new Space Now website.
Space Now is the news and information service of the National Space Centre, and is supported by EADS Astrium, the first commercial sponsor of the UK Beagle 2 mission to Mars. Space Now has strong links into the international space community and has access to a network of top space scientists.
The website covers space news and information under four key themes Into Space (human space flight), Exploring the Universe (deep sky astronomy), The Planets (our own Solar System) and Orbiting Earth (the role of space technology in our everyday lives). These themes are a reflection of the four galleries at the National Space Centre, said Kevin Yates, Space Communication Manager at the centre. The fifth gallery is called Space Now and incorporates a window into the Beagle 2 Lander Operations Control Centre, where visitors can actually watch the scientists at work.
The new website can be found at www.spacenow.org.uk
