Are meteorites magnetic?
The vast majority of meteorites, be they iron, stony, or stony-iron, contain enough metallic iron to be attracted to a magnet. However, if a meteorite has spent a long time on the Earth before being discovered, the iron can become weathered and so will not always be attracted to a magnet. Some rarer types of meteorite from the crusts of melted bodies contain little or no metallic iron.
